Last night, Jeff Daniels made a guest appearance on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon to talk about his HBO series The Newsroom. However, Fallon also asked the actor about the highly anticipated sequel to Dumb and Dumber.
Daniels remained tightlipped on plot details, but he did have this to say: "I've seen the script. It's hysterical. We're middle-aged -- we're not pretending we aren't -- and we're still that stupid."
The long-awaited project has been touch-and-go for several years now, but Daniels continued, "I'll believe it's happening when I'm actually there staring at Jim Carrey, but it looks like we're starting in September."
Currently, Dumb and Dumber To is scheduled for release in 2014, which also happens to be the 20th anniversary of the original movie.
