Joe Danger is Coming to Vita

Following a post on the PlayStation blog, Guildford-based developer Hello Games has confirmed that Joe Danger and its sequel Joe Danger 2: The Movie are both jumping platforms once again, coming to PlayStation Vita in 2014 boasting 60 frames-a-second visuals.

The cartoony stuntbike game made its debut on PS3 in 2010 before spawning a Special Edition on Xbox Live, a multiplatform sequel, PC ports, and an iOS version in the form of Joe Danger Touch earlier this year, which we rather liked.

“We’re super-precious about things like framerate, looks and controls,” says Hello Games managing director Sean Murray. “So Joe Danger always has to run at 60 frames-a-second and look fantastic, even if it’s running on a handheld device. So we sort of fell in love with the Vita because it actually makes that possible.”

It sounds like the Vita versions of Joe Danger will attempt to combine the DualShock controls of the original with the touch controls of the iOS outing, utilising Vita's touchscreen, but not to the detriment of the game as Sean explains, "We’re experimenting with what works best right now, and I promise we’re not going to shoehorn in a waggle controls and touch QTEs."

Joe Danger and Joe Danger 2: The Movie are scheduled for a 2014 release on PlayStation Vita.
