Forgotten Wars, the newest expansion for Might and Magic: Duel of Champions, is available today. According to Ubisoft, the expansion adds 150 new cards as well as the new Academy faction, which offers “high risk high reward gameplay.” Academy creatures “have high requirements and specific vulnerabilities, so players will have to use them strategically,” but if played correctly, “the cards are unrivaled.”
Forgotten Wars also includes the Altar of Wishes, which allows players to “exchange Wildcards with the Djinn, Nur, for any card they desire. The Wildcard cost for each card is based on both its rarity and its series.” In addition, “series of cards are unlockable at the Altar of Wishes by collecting 200 Cards from that series.”
“The Duel of Champions community has been requesting a way to obtain specific cards, and it was important that we fulfill the request with a solution that is true to the balanced and fair competitive spirit of the game,” said producer Stephane Jankowski. “We’re excited to see how gameplay changes with Forgotten Wars’ additions of The Altar of Wishes, the Academy faction, and 150 new cards.”
Duel of Champions is currently available as a free-to-play title, and more information on Forgotten Wars and much more is available on Ubisoft’s official site.
