Rumor has it Warner Bros. has found their replacement to direct American Sniper after Steven Spielberg dropped out.
Twitch claims that Oscar winner Clint Eastwood "has gotten the nod to take over the directing assignment." They add that Bradley Cooper is likely still aboard to star as the late Chris Kyle, the titular Navy SEAL sniper and author of the memoir upon which the movie will be based.
Both Eastwood and Cooper have other projects lined up to go before they could likely team for American Sniper. Eastwood will direct the big screen version of the stage musical hit Jersey Boys, while Cooper is eying a role in the Lance Armstrong biopic Red Blooded American.
