At Gamescom today Sony announced the price of the PlayStation Vita would fall to USD$199/€199, effective tomorrow in the US and Europe.
It’s since been revealed the Wifi and 3G PS Vita models will drop to AUD$269.95 in Australia starting September 2.
“PlayStation Vita’s new price makes it an even more compelling value for gamers looking for the ultimate in portable gaming,” said SCEA’s Guy Longworth, SVP PlayStation Brand Marketing. “With a strong holiday lineup, including the first PS Vita games from critically acclaimed developers Guerrilla Games and Media Molecule, plus integration with the highly anticipated PlayStation 4, now is the perfect time to become a PlayStation Vita owner.”
The price of memory cards will drop also to USD$79.99 (32GB), USD$39.99 (16GB), USD$19.99 (8GB), and USD$14.99 (4GB).
The news comes several months after the Vita price was dropped in Japan back in February.
