PS3 Exclusive Portal 2 DLC Tuesday

Back at E3, Portal 2 In Motion debuted, and now, it has a release date. Tuesday, November 6th, you'll be able to plunk down $9.99 and pick up a PlayStation Move exclusive "DLC campaign." If that's too rich for your blood, the original Portal 2 single-player and co-op campaigns will be patched for PlayStation Move controls Tuesday, as well.

Created by developer Sixense, the DLC -- according to the PlayStation Blog -- "introduces gameplay mechanics, including scaling and rotation of objects as well as portal surfing. These new abilities are all required as the player progresses through an increasingly challenging set of test chambers that look familiar from Portal 2, but require new thinking to solve."

If you're a PlayStation Plus member, you can get Portal 2 In Motion at a 30 percent discount. Tuesday also marks the digital release of Portal 2 on the PlayStation Network and the aforementioned PlayStation Move patch. While the original game will now support Sony's motion controller, the blog calls out the fact that only Portal 2 In Motion has puzzles built for the PlayStation Move.

So, you buying the DLC Tuesday?

Deadpool Battles Some Dead Presidents

Today Marvel held the fourth in a week-long series of Next Big Thing press calls covering the various Marvel NOW! releases lined up for November. Today's call focused on the new volume of Deadpool from writers Brian Posehn and Gerry Duggan and artist Tony Moore. Duggan and Moore were present on the call, along with editor Jordan White.

With the first issue still a couple weeks away, the creators weren't able to reveal too much more than was discussed in our exclusive interview this past August. We'd recommend checking out that article for the full scoop on the new series. However, there were some interesting new tidbits revealed during the call.

Duggan explained how the initial story arc, wherein Deadpool does battle with a horde of reanimated, super-powered US Presidents, was designed to take advantage of the current election season. "We knew it was going to debut near Halloween during an election cycle. We wanted to open big with our Ghostbusters or Big Trouble in Little China -- some really big action thing that would also allow us to be funny. And Marvel agreed and said, 'That's how we should open it up'... We figured people are going to be sick of the election. Here's a way to have fun with the Presidents that wasn't political."

Duggan discussed how the zombie Presidents will be portrayed. "They've all sort of returned with their various strengths and weaknesses. Gerry Ford is a little bit of a stumblebum. JFK still has a weakness for the ladies." He also revealed that master huntsman Teddy Roosevelt will be a major threat to Deadpool in issue #2 and hinted that "Reagan finally gets to enjoy a little Star Wars later in the run." The zombie Presidents will be joined by at least one other historical figure, as the ghost of Benjamin Franklin is poised to play a major role in the arc.

The preview for issue #1 included below showcases a team-up between Deadpool and Thor. This is characteristic of the interaction Deadpool will have with various Marvel heroes in the series. Duggan said, "People will help him because the situation demands it, but they don't want to be seen doing it." Following Thor's guest role in issue #1, Doctor Strange will appear in issue #3.

Scroll below for preview art and cover images of the first two issues of the series, both of which are scheduled to ship in November. And we'll have plenty more Deadpool coverage next month.

3DS XL Circle Pad Pro Hits Japan in November

Nintendo has revealed that the XL Circle Pad Pro will come to Japan on November 15th. The supersized peripheral will be available for 1,500 yen (roughly equivalent to $19) and, like its smaller cousin before it, will add a second analog stick for use in 3DS games.

The accessory was originally confirmed in June and we got our first look during the Tokyo Game Show last month. It follows the original Circle Pad Pro, which launched alongside Resident Evil Revelations in the United States.

The Circle Pad Pro is currently compatible with Resident Evil Revelations and Metal Gear Solid 3D Snake Eater, among others. For now, the XL version has only been announced for Japan, but we’ve reached out to Nintendo about whether it will be headed West and will update this story with any comment we receive.

Until then, watch our impressions of the Circle Pad Pro XL in the video above, and read Nintendo global president Satoru Iwata’s thoughts on why the 3DS XL doesn’t have a second circle pad built in.

Football Manager 2013 Release Date Announced

SEGA has revealed the latest instalment in the Football Manager franchise will release on November 2 worldwide.

If you can't wait until then though, the company is offering keen players who pre-order the chance to get into the game earlier.

Anyone who pre-orders a physical or digital copy of the game will receive a code that will grant access to a single-player beta version of the game about two weeks before the full game becomes available. This beta will remain playable until November 5, and all saved games and progress made during the pre-release period will be fully compatible with the final release.

Speaking about the decision to offer earlier access, Sports Interactive’s studio director Miles Jacobson said, "Our fans are very good at letting us know what they want and the one thing that’s consistently at the top of their wish list is an earlier release date. While we can’t, strictly speaking, offer them exactly what they want, this Beta version is the next best thing… a fully playable Football Manager they can get their hands on around two weeks before the finished game hits the streets."

Football Manager 2013 will be available on PC and Mac from November 2, and includes new features such as a Classic mode and short-term challenges.
